Pirate Themed Adventure Summer Camp

Ahoy there, me hearties! At Cub Summer Camp 2026, each day will bring new adventures on the high seas as we sail into a world of pirates, treasure hunts, and daring challenges! Cubs, Leaders, and Adult helpers - are ye brave enough to join the crew and seek the hidden treasure?

Off Base Activities:

  • Bowentown.

Busses to take everyone off site. 

  • Detailed programmes and additional information regarding the schedule will be provided at the start of the camp.
  • A campfire is scheduled for the first evening. 
  • Please be aware that activities may be adjusted or rescheduled depending on the weather and cub/adult ratio.

  • Morning Gathering: The crew will assemble each morning for a camp-wide briefing before heading off to the day's exciting activities.
  • Rotating Bases: Cubs and Adults will rotate through base areas, experiencing a different adventure each day. Groupings will be organised by the Programming Team and identified by coloured name badges and lanyards given at check-in.

  • Trading Post: Open most afternoons, the Trading Post will offer badges, scout items, ice blocks, lollies, and snackscash only. Trading Post

  • Badge Swap: Join the daily badge swap on the deck outside the dining hall. Bring your Group and Zone badges to trade with other Cubs and Leaders. It’s a great way to expand your collection!

Evening Activities

Each evening, gather on the grassy area between the main building and the Confidence Course for fun-filled activities that are sure to bring the whole crew together. Don’t miss these end-of-day adventures!

Camp Life 

Contingent Structure

  • Youth Members: Each Contingent ideally includes 36 youth members. No more than 36.

  • Adult Supervision: A team of 6-7 adults, including a Contingent Leader, Leaders / adult helpers, a kitchen/Health & Safety (H&S) person. (Adults raito to Youth 1/6) No more than 8

  • Dining and Cooking Facilities: Each Contingent has a dedicated dining tent and a separate cooking tent for meal preparation.

  • Accommodation: Youth share tents within the secure Contingent perimeter, adults are on the same site however stay in separate tents.

Camp Setup:

  • Each contingent must bring their own tents and cooking equipment.
  • Each group will have their own dining and cooking tents.
  • Youth sleep in shared tents within the contingent area, while adults sleep separately, in line with Health & Safety policy.

Facilities:

  • Portaloos are located near each contingent area.
  • Clean drinking water is readily available.
  • Showers are available for adults only.
  • A daily swim is scheduled for both Cubs and adults—perfect for cooling off after a day of adventuring!
  • Washing line to dry items.

Theme & Prizes

Hoist your colours and decorate your camp! There will be a prize for the best Pirate-themed campsite and gateway. Show off your creativity and come prepared to impress! Contingent Leader to encourage and deligate a team to help/assist. 

Helpful Tip

A custom Contingent scarf (upto each contingent if they wish to make these) makes it easy to spot your crew around camp and helps protect your Group scarf from getting lost or damaged during the voyage.

Campfire

There is a campfire on the first night. Remember to bring your campfire blanket.
