Mobile phones are not encouraged at Scout Camp. If a Scout needs to contact a parent then there is a phone at the camp office that may be used or perhaps their Leader can make a phone available. If the cell phone is being used as a camera please make arrangements to use something else.
Parents should be aware that frequently the even the happiest Scout in camp will become homesick after a phone call home. The youth are growing up, and being away from home for 5 for 6 days is part of the process of developing self-confidence and self-reliance.
